PURPOSE:To lessen deterioration of dot quality, thereby reducing a generation of black spot, by processing a silver halide photosensitive material contg. a hydrazine derivative with a developing contg. a specific compd. and having a high pH of 11.0-12.3. CONSTITUTION:The silver halide photosensitive material is processed with the developing solution which has 11.0-12.3 pH, and comprises a developing agent of dihydroxy benzene type, an auxiliary developing agent of 3-pyrazolidone type and/or an auxiliary developing agent of p-aminophenol type, >=0.3mol/l sulfite and a substd. nitroindazole and/or the compd. shown by formula I. In formula I, R<1> is a substd. or an unsubstd. naphthyl group, (but, as the substituent, -SO3M, -COOM, -OH, -NHSO2R<2>, -SO2NR<2>R<3>, and -NR<2>CONR<2>R<3> are excluded, wherein R<2> and R<3> are each hydrogen atom or 1-4C a lower alkyl group), M is hydrogen atom, an alkaline metal ion, quarternary ammonium ion or quarternary phosphonium ion. |
