PURPOSE:To increase the quantity of air for cooling a generator by providing an inductor and an element receiving an induced current opposite to each other and coaxially with the generator, by fitting the element with a fan for cooling the generator, and by activating the inductor by an AC output of the generator. CONSTITUTION:An element 81 receiving an induced current is provided rotatably at the end of the rotating shaft of a generator consisting of a stator 1 and a rotor 2 generating an AC output, through the intermediary of a bearing 4, and a fan 5 for cooling the generator is fitted monolithically with the element. Moreover, an inductor 7 having an activating coil is fixed to a bracket 6, opposite to the element 81. The number of poles of the inductor 7 is set at 1/2 or less of the number of poles of the stator of the generator, while a part of the AC output of the generator is taken out to activate the inductor 7. By this constitution, the speed of rotation of the cooling fan can be made higher than the speed of rotation of the generator in connection with a synchronous speed, and thus the quantity of cooling air can be increased. |
