PURPOSE:To measure the length of the moving substance without using a moving speed detector, by detecting the time period the substance moves the part between two line sensors which are arranged on the way of the moving line of the substance with a specified distance being provided, and the time the substance passes one sensor. CONSTITUTION:The sensors C1 and C2 are arranged on the moving line (b) of the substance (a), with the distance L, which is slightly longer than the length l of the substance (a), being provided. The time t1, at which the substance (a) passes the first sensor C1, and the time period, during which the substance reaches the sensor C2 from the sensor C1, are measured by a counter. The length l is computed by the formula l=t1L/t2 in an operating circuit. Therefore the length l of the moving substance (a) is measured without using the moving speed detector. |
