PURPOSE:To enable the use of a column best suited to a sample by making four different kind of columns usable with one switching operation employing one 8-way cock while the direction of the column is reversible. CONSTITUTION:An 8-way cock 2 is provided with eight ports (a)-(h). The ports are communicated, one to the other one as follow: at one position thereof, (a) to (h), (b) to (g), (c) to (f) and (d) to (e) and at the other position, (b) to (c), (a) to (d), (e) to (h) and (f) to (g). In other words, in this gas chromatograph 17, the combination of volums 7 8 and 9 10 can be switched to the combination of columns 10 9 and 8 7 with the changeover operation of only one 8-way cock 2 thereby making the use of four different kind of columns possible. If the direction of the columns is made reversible, the use of columns best suited to samples can be done. |
