<p>PURPOSE:To obtain a liquid crystal cell having high mechanical strength and good resistance to moisture and heat by heating the parts corresponding to the sealing part of a liquid crystal cell substrate formed with an oriented film on the surface to temp. around the thermal decomposition temp. of the oriented film and bringing a sealant into tight contact therewith. CONSTITUTION:A transparent electrode 2, an insulation film 3 and an oriented film 4 are formed successively on the surface of an insulation substrate 1, and such liquid crystal cell substrate 9 is placed on a heat absorbing base 8. On the other hand, a heating die 7 having the pressing surface of the same shapes as those of the sealing part and liquid crystal injection port of the liquid crystal is prepared, and the die 7 is heated to temp. higher than the thermal decomposition temp. of the film 4 and is pressed onto the film 4 of the substrate 9. By said heating, the parts corresponding to the sealing part and liquid crystal injection port of the film 4 are thermally decomposed and a sealant 5 is coated on the parts corresponding to the sealing part. Thereafter, the liquid crystal cell is produced in accordance with the conventional method. A liquid crystal material 6 is injected in the cell and the liquid crystal injection port is closed by the sealant, whereby the assembling of the liquid crystal cell is completed.</p> |
