PURPOSE:A carbon black-containing chlorinated polyethylene resin composition is made to react with a specific silane and exposed to water in the presence of a silanol condensation catalyst to effect crosslinking, thus producing the titled composition with no foaming during the reaction. CONSTITUTION:A resin composition that is prepared by adding 10-100pts.wt. of carbon black of less than 100mmu average particle size and more than 20m<2>/g. surface area to 100pts.wt. of chlorinated polyethylene is made to react with a silane of RR'SiY2 (R is olefinically unsaturated monofunctional hydrocarbon, hydrocarbonoxy; Y is hydrolyzable organic group; R' is group R, Y) such as vinyltriethoxysilane in the presence of a free radical initiator such as dicumyl peroxide. Then, the product is exposed to water in the presence of a silanol condensation catalyst such as dibutyltin dilaurate. |
