PURPOSE:To surely perform the discrimination of character types, by discriminating the character types through the reference of the result of decision for other characters on the same row, as to a character having lower sureness of the result of decision of character types based on a parameter. CONSTITUTION:A device for character type discrimination consists of the 1st discriminating section 4 deciding character types of individual characters based on its parameter and the 2nd discriminating section 10 finally deciding the character types from the result of decision of the section 4. The 1st discriminating section obtains one or more parameters reflecting the character type as to the individual characters and decides the character type of each character based on the parameter. Further, the 2nd discriminating section 10 decides the character type by referencing the result of decision to other characters on the same row, for a character having lower sureness of the result of decision by the 1st discriminating section 4. |
