PURPOSE:To perform format processing of input data, through making easy the reliability check of the input data, by providing an edition controlling function in converting a word input into a plurality of character codes. CONSTITUTION:In depressing a character board 1 with a light pen 3, an address of the depressed position is read in X and Y scanners 4 and 5, and the address is converted into a character code at a character code generating section 6. Similarly, in depressing a word board 2 with the light pen 3, the address is determined. Further, a plurality of character codes are generated at a word code generating section 7 with this address. Whether or not the number of characters in this case can all be contained in an area is checked at a character number check section 10, and if not contained, according to the instruction of an edition set section 9, the codes are compulsively replaced into the special character code set at a special character set section 11, if necessary. |
