In a case of a clamp having a clamp band, the first end portion of which has a through-passage and at least partially encloses a slotted retaining means which is designed as a hollow cylinder with two coaxial transverse holes, and the second end portion of which is bent radially outwards, a tensioning screw having a head passes through the two end portions of the clamping band and the retaining means. Furthermore, when tensioning the clamp, the tensioning screw interacts with an internal thread. In order to be able to exert a high tensioning force and, nevertheless, in order to save material and simplify mounting, the invention provides that the first end portion (4) simply engages into the slot (8) of the retaining means (2). <IMAGE>
