PURPOSE:To record the entire part of a paper thinly to a chromatic color simultaneously with image recording by setting the developing bias of a selected color near the level for formation of the latent image in a background part for the selected coloring part. CONSTITUTION:This invention relates to a method of permitting arbitrary selection of the set value of developing bias by providing a selecting part and a varying part for the developing bias in the case of projecting the light image corresponding to a recording image on the surface on an electrostatically charged photoreceptor to form a latent image, applying a bias voltage thereupon and developing the latent image by supplying a developer to the region where the latent image is formed, wherein, for example, developing bias VB is set slightly higher than the potential in the background part at an exposure level or slightly lower than the same, whereby a toner of a chromatic color is stuck uniformly and thinly on the background part and the chromatic coloring of the entire part of the paper is made possible similtaneously with the image recording. |
