PURPOSE:To obtain a good-quality image free of roughness, by forming an undercoat to be provided between a substrate and a photosensitive layer using casein mixed with methyl cellulose resin. CONSTITUTION:A soln. of casein mixed with 10-50wt% methyl cellulose is coated as an undercoat on a substrate, and dried to form an undercat layer. On this layer, zinc oxide powder or cyanine pigment powder, or the like sensitized with dye is coated together with a binder resin to form a photosensitive layer usable for an electrophotographic receptor. Said undercoat layer has no danger to cause cracking and peeling, and can be formed sufficiently thick, permitting an image free from roughness to be formed on this photoreceptor even if a substrate having a rough surface is used. |
