<p>The electrical generator includes a driving lever with a fixed collector through which a shaft passes. The shaft is attached to the armature and is supported in a bearing in a frame. The collector is attached to a pinion which engages a toothed belt or chain. The shaft also carries a lever on the collector whilst the other longer end carries an electric motor. The shaft of this motor carries a pinion which engages the second end of the belt or chain. The motor and generator are said to cooperate in generating electricity, the motor initially starting the necessary movement, until a relay is changed and the mechanism continues under its own momentum.</p> |
