<p>PURPOSE:To prevent an adjuster mechanism from carrying out defective operations by undergoing adverse influence due to brake heat by providing a ventilating opening between a friction pad of the disc brake and the adjuster mechanism. CONSTITUTION:The gap adjustment between friction pads 4 and 9 is automatically performed by the adjuster mechanism consisting of an adjuster gear 22, an adjuster screw 21, an outer cover 28 and the like, which are sometimes made by materials weak against heat, such as synthetic resins and the like. Heat generated by the friction braking is transmitted to a tightly sealed calliper body 7. However, by a leg part 8b of having a small diameter of an inner cover 8, the transmission of heat is reduced. Further, since external air flows into a ventilating opening 11 to cool the calliper body 7 and the inner cover 8, transmission of brakng heat to the adjuster mechanism is prevented.</p> |
