In a device for cleaning the warm exhaust air of one or more linen driers, there is arranged a heat exchanger (15) in which the heat of the exhaust air is transmitted to the fresh air which is admitted in a controlled quantity into the connection and has previously passed through a heat exchanger (16) to which extraneous heat, for example from the warm exhaust water of a washing device, has been applied. Before entry into the heat exchanger (15), the exhaust air is cleaned by means of a filter (17) and freed from water droplets in a moisture separator (19). The exhaust air emerging from the heat exchanger (15) is once again conducted through filters (21) and a moisture separator (23), from where by means of a slide arrangement (24) it is either sucked to the outlet (14) by means of a fan (13), or is conducted into the heat exchanger (16) arranged in the fresh air duct. The air filters (17, 21) can be cleaned by means of spray nozzles (18, 22). <IMAGE>
