<p>A sensor (10) for indicating the presence or absence of a liquid adjacent the sensor (10). The sensor (10) has first and second spaced apart thermistors (26, 28) and means (38) for controllably heating the second thermistor (28). A voltage is applied to a circuit including each of the thermistors (26, 28) and the voltages at the input (30, 30') of each of the two thermistors (26, 28) are compared by a voltage comparator (42). In response to these voltages differing by more than a preselected amount, the voltage comparator (42) produces a signal used to activate either a warning system or an engine shut-down system.</p> |
