PURPOSE:To provide an edible oil and fat composition containing a specific amount of alpha-linolenic acid and effective in preventing allergy, thrombosis and hypertension. CONSTITUTION:An edible oil and fat composition such as vegetable oil is added with >=20wt%, preferably >=30wt% alpha-linolenic acid at an (alpha-linolenic acid)/(linoleic acid) weight ratio of >=1, preferably >=3. The composition may be incorporated further with an antioxidant such as alpha-tocopherol. |
