DETECTING METHOD FOR POSITION OF VEHICLE

PURPOSE:To enable economical and highly reliable detection of the position of a vehicle by detecting the position of the vehicle based on an AC voltage inducted in a current feeding coil by an AC magnetic field generated from an antenna carried on the vehicle. CONSTITUTION:Receivers 4a-4c respectively receive voltages VU-VW which are induced at current feeding coils 2a-2c via an AC magnetic field generated by a transmission antenna 1 carried on a vehicle. A level comparator 5 detects the sequence of the magnitudes of the voltages VU-VW. An adder 6 obtains the approximate value of the maximum value VO of the voltages VU-VW. An arithmetic unit 7 notifies in which range the vehicle exists in the six ranges which are divided from a set period according to the output of the comparator 5 and compares the voltages VU-VW normalized by the maximum value VO with the voltages VY-VW normalized corresponding to the position of the vehicle stored in advance in a memory 8, thereby detecting the position of the vehicle.
