Roof comprising pipe elements which can be combined, consisting of plastic which can, for the most part, be extruded. The roof fulfils two functions, that is to say insulation with respect to the escape of heat radiation and/or the ingress of heat radiation. When a heat-conveying medium flows through the pipe system, a solar roof heated by the environment is formed; once the heat-conveying medium has been pumped away, the insulating function dominates.
