The invention concerns a tiltable induction furnace which has a single-phase winding. To avoid deformations of the insert of the induction furnace, which consists of cast material, a stop is, according to the invention, provided on the crucible of the induction furnace, this stop acting counter to the tilting direction and being provided to prevent such deformations. The crucible can also be provided with two diametrically opposite pouring lips which are alternately turned through 180 DEG for the emptying of the crucible and used alternately.
