1,254,378. Creels. BARMAG BARMER MASCHINENFABRIK A.G. 20 March, 1969 [20 March, 1968], No. 14595/69. Heading D1J. A creel for supplying yarn to, for example, a false twist crimping machine, comprises bobbin frames 5 which can be moved between an upper normal working position (Fig. 1, left) and a lower loading working position (Fig. 1, right) relative to a carrying and guiding structure 4, 17, and can be locked in either position. Spring-loaded bolts 26 on the bobbin frame 5 are released by manual operation of a lever 44, and on reaching either end position spring into sockets 27, 28 on the supporting frame members 17. Release of the bolts 26 operates a microswitch to start a motor 56 (Fig. 6) in the appropriate direction to raise or lower the frame 5 by means of a cable 29, a further microswitch stopping the motor when the other end position is reached. As a safety device, a weight 62 operates switches 65 or 66 to shut off the motor if the microswitch fails to do so. The frame 5 may be counterbalanced and moved manually, or operated electrically, hydraulically or pneumatically. Each frame 5 supports supply and reserve bobbins for the corresponding section of the machine, so that the machine may be run continuously, the empty bobbins being replaced when convenient. |
