PURPOSE:To provide an ink donor sheet capable of reproducing a half tone by arranging a hot melting ink layer having a special temperature gradation property on a porous base in such a manner that the concentration of ink decreases as an energy is applied to the layer after it reaches the maximum thereof. CONSTITUTION:A hotmelting ink layer 4 is formed on the top surface of a porous base 3 with such a special temperature gradation property thereof that it maitains a solid state at the normal temperature, but the viscosity thereof drops sharply as heated up to a specified temperature and then, decreases gradually with further heating to obtain a sheet as expected. In the thermal recording, as the layer is heated up to a specified temperature, the viscosity thereof drops sharply, a condition under which said ink layer begins to shift to a recording paper 5 to record. Thereafter, as the heating temperature is lowered, the viscosity decreases gradually so as to cause a gradual increase in the quantity of ink penetrating into the porous base. This allows the decreasing of the quantity of the ink layer shifting to the recording paper thereby reducing the recording density. |
