PURPOSE:To reduce the possibility of forming explosive mixed gas by estimating the quantity of inflammable gas mixed in oil flowing into a degassing bath and letting air in the degassing bath in such a manner that the inflammable gas concentration at the vapor phase portion of the degassing bath is lower than the explosion lowest limit. CONSTITUTION:The quantity of inflammable gas mixed in oil flowing into a degassing bath 2 is estimated by detecting the temperature, pressure and flow rate of oil in a line 5. Air is let in the bath 2 in such a manner that the inflammable gas concentration at the vapor phase portion of the bath 2 is considerably lower than the explosion lowest limit. Since the fuel-air ratio of explosion lowest limit corresponding to various kinds of inflammable gas is known, if the maximum inflow of inflammable gas is found, air more than twice the quantity of air of explosion lowest limit corresponding to the inflow is supplied to a purge gas supply line 12. Thus, the inflammable gas dissolved in oil is degasses, and the inflammable gas concentration at the gas phase portion of the bath 2 is kept less than half the explosion lowest limit. |
