PURPOSE:To make the size of connectors, wire harness and circuit units small and to decrease the number of filter circuits, by transmitting stationary and specific data through the use of the same data transmission lines. CONSTITUTION:Two wires, a data transmission line 22 for data transmission and a request signal transmission line 24 requesting thetransmission of specific data, e.g. failure diagnostic data are connected between an ENG computer 10 and a computer 12 for a car. The line 24 transmits request information from the computer 12 to the computer 10 and the data from the computer 10 to the computer 12. The computer 12 is provided with a switch board 26, which has a failure diagnosis request switch, a monitor start switch, a failure diagnosis display end switch and a monitor display end switch. An output signal of each switch is applied to a discrimination circuit 30 on signal lines 28a-28d. The circuit 30 generates request information in accordance with the switch operation of the switchboard 26. |
