PURPOSE:To suppress the surge energy when a load side is shortcircuited by adding shortcircuit protecting circuit which contains a voltage sensitive spark gap to a high voltage power source connected to a building block body power source through a filter to a collector power source. CONSTITUTION:A high voltage power source of building block type used for large power amplifier such as travelling wave tube or the like is connected to a building block body power source 6 through filters 2, 3 and ripple improving filters 4, 5 to a collector power source 1, and a shortcircuit protecting circuit which has voltage sensitive spark gaps 7, 9 and resistors 8, 10 is added between the output terminals C, A of the filter and an earth. Accordingly, the spark gaps 7, 9 are instantaneously discharged at the time of a shortcircuit accident such as flash in the tube produced in a bulb, thereby absorbing the surge energy via the resistors 8, 10 and effectively preventing the damage of the bulb with a simple circuit configuration. |
