PURPOSE:To uniformly cool with high accuracy to a prescribed temperature without breaking down a strip shape, by forming a loop by empty weight, on the delivery of a continuous heat-treatment furnace, the delivery of a cooling liquid tank, and between each feed device to the following process. CONSTITUTION:A strip 8 to which necessary heat treatment has been executed by a continuous heat-treatment furnace 1 is held at lower tension than tension in the furnace 1 by a strip feed device 4 provided in a delivery chamber 10, passes through a throat 2 and is led to a liquid tank 3 filled with a cooling liquid 9. The strip which has formed a loop by empty weight and converted its direction in the liquid tank 3 is led to the outside of the tank 3, and as necessary, it is dried by a drying device 6, is made to form a loop agin by a feed device 5, and is led to the following process by the following feed device 7. In case when it is necessary to change the cooling capacity, the dip length in the tank 3 is changed by adjusting a feed speed of the feed device 4 or 5 in order to secure a temperature of the delivery of the tank, which is required for the strip 8. |
