PURPOSE:To improve the rate of sticking on the repairing part of a blast furnace wall and to prolong the life after the repair by opening a hole in the shell of the damaged part of said furnace, and preparing the surface in the part to be spray-coated and repaired then bringing a sealing plate into abutment on the damaged part and repairing said part by spray coating with a nozzle from the outside of the furnace. CONSTITUTION:After the contents 2 in a blast furnace 1 are reduced down to a level below the damaged part 3 of the furnace wall, the blast furnace is blown down, and the shell 4 in the part 3 is opened with a required min. hole. A sealing plate 9 is mounted and fixed to the front surface in the part 3 through the manhole 6 at the furnace top by means of a chain 8 and studs 10 are disposed in the part 3. Thereafter, a required amt. of a shapeless refractory material is sprayed or cast by using a nozzle 11 toward the plate 9. After the completion, the plate 9 is removed, and the opened shell 4 is restored. |
