PURPOSE:To prevent error insertion into the main body of a printer, in a freely detachable multi-color ink roll cassette carring out multi-color printing in cooperation with a small printer, by forming an engaging part into an asymmetric shape. CONSTITUTION:A multi-color ink roll cassette, wherein a black ink roll 16 and a red ink roll 17 are attached to a roll shaft 18 through a spacer 15 for preventing color mixing and this structure is held to an ink roll cover 14, is mounted to a small printer main body 11 to carry out multi-color printing. In the above described apparatus, the engaging part (a part shown by a mark 18a) provided to one side of the ink roll shaft 18 to the cover 14 is made long and, on the other hand, a slit part 12a corresponding to the above described part 18a is provided to the ink roll exchanging opening part 12 of the printer main body 11 and the engaging part in mounting is formed into an asymmetric shape to prevent the multi-color ink roll cassette from being mounted to the printer main body in a reverse direction. |
