EBULLITION TYPE HEAT TRANSFER PIPE

PURPOSE:To enable to form a number of ideal bubble nuclei by a method wherein a band metal whose lateral width varies in the direction of the thickness thereof and which is provided with recesses on both longitudinal side surfaces thereof is wound around the titled heat transfer pipe with its surface of wider width kept facing inside. CONSTITUTION:The band metal 10 having a trapezoidal cross sectional surface 8 and provided with recesses 9 formed in both of the longitudinal side surfaces thereof in an alternative fashion is tightly wound around the outer surface of a heat transfer pipe 5 to thereby provide a number of small clearances 2 between the band metal and the pipe 5. In this case, the samll clearances 2 act as stabilized ebullition bubble nuclei by making themselves re-entrant cavities for a heat medium so that a favorable ebullition type heat transfer property is imparted to the heat tansfer pipe. Further, each of the small clearances 2 is in communication with the clearance adjacent thereto so that the clogging of the clearance is prevented and the heat transfer property of the heat transfer pipe 5 is therefore secured.
