PURPOSE:To simplify the construction of a stopper and enhance an oil seal retaining property, by a method wherein stoppers for restricting retraction limits of pistons are provided at the tips of piston rods in a master cylinder provided with a plurality of brake oil pressure chambers. CONSTITUTION:In a main body 13 of the master cylinder, cylinder holes 14, 39 are provided on both sides of a partition wall 16, brake pistons 151, 152 are slidably fitted in the hole 14, the brake oil pressure chamber 171 is defined between the piston 151 and the wall 16, and the brake oil pressure chamber 172 is defined between the pistons 151, 152. The chamber 171 is connected to a brake Bf for front wheels through an output port 181, while the chamber 172 is connected to a brake Br for rear wheels through an output port 182. The back face of the piston 152 faced to an oil pressure chamber 24 constitutes the first pressure- receiving part, while the piston rod 152a constitutes the second pressure-receiving part. To restrict the retraction limits of the pistons 151, 152, the stopper 27 being brought into contact with the top face of the wall 16 is provided at the tip of a piston rod 151a, and the stopper 28 brought into contact with a sleeve 19 is engaged with the piston rod 152a. |
