PURPOSE:To supply an adequate amt. of powder to molds by providing a main controller in a computer room which controls the supply of powder and an auxiliary controller at a very near distance from the molds and making a commanding device and a monitor operatable with both controllers. CONSTITUTION:In accordance with the instruction of an auxiliary controller 2, setting 16 of charging modes, setting 17 of ingot widths, setting 18 of inside and outside limits of molds, and setting 19 of charging brands are fed via a repeating chamber 4 to a microcomputer 21 and a main controller 1, and the commands are displayed on a graphic display device 14 for charging modes and a display device 15 for ingot widths. The brand to be charged, the start and completion of charging, the speed and rate of charging are commanded to a supplying part 3 for powder. A position signal 10 for a supplying port for powder detects the position of strands and feeds the same to a data selector 25 via an input selecting 24 circuit and a BCD converter 25. The charging of powder is accomplished as a generator 12 for the recording of charging outputs the record of charging by voltage and the voltage is converted to current with a V/I converter 28.
