In a bend piece for pipelines or pipeline networks, in particular for the pneumatic conveying of powders or granulates of in particular an abrasive nature, its flow cross-section (S1 to S10) changes between the entrance (2) and the exit (3) of the bend piece (1) to the effect that it is enlarged from the entrance as far as the curvature or bending point in such a manner that a delay of the fluid flow which flows inside the bend piece (1) and is charged with the material to be conveyed is brought about and that the flow cross-section is subsequently reduced again between the height of the curvature and the exit. As a result of this diffuser effect, the speed of the fluid flow and of the materials carried along, and thus the abrasive effect on in particular the outer bend inner wall, is reduced in the region of curvature. <IMAGE>
