TESTER FOR DURABILITY OF VALVE BODY OR THE LIKE

PURPOSE:To prevent condensation and icing of moisture in a pressurized gas and to permit testing under the conditions approximate to actual extremely cold conditions by applying the pressurized gas after dehumidifying the same and cooling said gas in an extremely cold atmosphere of a thermostatic chamber to a valve body to be tested. CONSTITUTION:The pressurized gas from a pressurizing source is dehumidified primarily to about dew point temp. -15 deg.C with a refrigeration type dehumidifier 10; thereafter, the gas is dehumidified secondarily down to about dew point temp. -40 deg.C with a steam adsorption type dehumidifier 11. The dehumidified gas is supplied intermittently into housing 2 for supporting a valve body through a connecting piping 7 by means of a selector valve 4 which operates at prescribed cycles. After the gas is thoroughly cooled in the extremely cold atmosphere in a thermostatic chamber 3 by the heat exchanging effect of a heat exchanging means 13, the gas is applied to a valve body 1 to be tested. Thus prescribed pressure fluctuations are applied to the valve body 1 by the pressure P1 developed by the thoroughly dehumidified and coolded pressurized gas and the pressure P2 developed by a pressure reducing circuit 6.
