The invention has as its departure point the edge covering of a roof which is covered with sheeting or paperboard, in particular a flat roof, having a profile strip, which runs along each edge and raises the sheets or paperboard borders, and a screen which is arranged vertically on the outer side of each edge. According to the invention, an edge covering of this type is improved to the effect that the metal profile sheet (1), the profile strip (2) and the screen (6) are mounted separately from one another. The screen (6) can thus be mounted in a precisely horizontal manner, irrespectively of whether the roof edge is precisely horizontal, and thus form an aesthetically pleasing roof gravel stop. The metal profile sheet (1) designed from stainless-steel sheet metal can then be placed in a clamping manner on a small upper projection of the screen (6).
