A transporting system (10) with a conveying track (18, 26) for work-piece carriers is proposed, which system is provided with two stores which are linked at different places on the conveyor track (18, 26) and each of which is designed as a helical chute (34, 42) with a motor-driven elevator (32, 40). The two helical chutes (34, 42) preferably have a different helical diameter and are inserted concentrically one inside the other, and the two elevators (32, 40) are combined to form a constantly conveying construction unit provided with a common drive (46). This results in a space-saving and cost-effective construction of the two stores. The arrangement is particularly advantageous in transporting systems with a circulating conveying track and their own work-piece carriers which link two production lines to one another. <IMAGE>
