METHOD OF MANUFACTURING FLUORESCENT LAMPS

In the prodn. of luminescent tubes, a suspension is prepared by adding a phosphor (I) and an alkali metal phosphate and/or borate as adhesion promoter (II) to an ag. soln.of a polyethylene oxide(PED) or fatty ester. This is passed through a 50-200 micron mesh filter and sprayed onto the inside of a glass tube. The coating is then fired at a temp. not exceeding the softening point of the glass, the glass tube being supported during firing.
