The invention relates to a fish-catching appliance for taking fish from ponds, especially from fish farms and fish breeding pools. The appliance possesses a tank (2) with a pump (10) which can optionally be actuated in suction or pressure mode. In suction mode water containing fish is sucked in from the pool through an aspiration hose (34) and conveyed into the tank (2). In pressure mode, the fish-containing water is pressed out from the tank (2) through a discharge pipe (36). The fish are removed in a downstream separator (38), while the water passes back into the pool. <IMAGE>
