The encapsulated material may be a solid, a liquid or a solution of a solid in a water-immiscible liquid. Specific examples relate to the encapsulation of polybutene oil, aspirin and prontosil S. The polymer may be carboxymethyl cellulose, an alginate or pectin or a synthetic polymer such as copolymers of maleic anhydride with ethylene, isobutylene, styrene or vinyl ethers which have been at least partly converted to the carboxyl or carboxylate form, homopolymers of acrylic and methacrylic acids and copolymers thereof.</p> |
