1284067 Friction clutch plates SOC ANON FRANCAISE DU FERODO 20 Feb 1970 [21 Feb 1969] 8363/70 Heading F2V A friction clutch plate comprises a central disc 19 divided into sectors 17, 18, 19 by equally spaced peripheral notches 14, 15, 16, the sectors being formed with spring-receiving openings 30, 31, 32, 33 of unequal lengths and disposed in register with selected ones of a larger number (six shown) of equally spaced spring pockets 24 in spaced outer plates 12 connected by pins 23 passing through the notches 14, 15, 16. As shown a pair of long and short openings 30, 31 in sector 17 are located diametrically opposite single short and long openings 32, 33 in sectors 18, 19. Of the four springs 26, 27, 28, 29 which have identical free lengths, springs 26, 29 have greater compressibility than springs 27, 28 so that the initial loading of the two sets of springs are different when assembled. Fig. 4 shows the spring characteristic B for forward and reverse rotation compared with that A given by the normal arrangement of six similar springs in pockets 24.
|
