In circular saw blades with saw teeth (1) at the outer periphery and a centrally located clamping opening (2), there are cutting recesses (3, 6) in various diametral areas of the saw blade, that is, cutting recesses (3, 6) running essentially radially on the outside and inside, the rear edges of which in the peripheral direction of the saw blade are provided with cutting strips (5, 7) projecting laterally from the saw blade and made of carbide or the like, the inner cutting recesses (6) having a profile widening to an increasing extent in the radial direction to the outside, in particular a sector profile. In order to make the circular saw blade free of internal stress to an even greater degree and to enable high tangential stresses to appear during the sawing operation while at the same time adequately removing the sawdust through the inner cutting recesses, four of such inner cutting recesses (6) are arranged in uniform distribution all around and are staggered relative to the outer cutting recesses (3). <IMAGE>
