An electromotive regulating and control drive, especially for industrial sewing machines, consists of a permanently drivable motor (1) and of a brake/clutch unit (2) connected to this. A clutch disc connected fixedly in terms of rotation to an output shaft (38) can be brought by axial movement and by the overcoming of a clutch air gap, into frictional engagement with a clutch abutment connected fixedly in terms of rotation to the rotor (7) of the motor (1). A brake disc connected fixedly in terms of rotation to the output shaft (38) can be brought into frictional engagement with a rotationally fixed brake abutment. Furthermore, a clutch coil (53) and a brake coil (59) are provided. To reduce the outlay for the brake/clutch unit (2), without annoying shifting noises occurring, only one clutch/brake disc (43) is provided and devices for adjusting the clutch air gap are provided.
