In the case of an electrical switch having an electrically conductive ball (17) which is arranged in a housing (11) consisting of insulating material and via which two contacts (13, 14) are connected to one another, the ball (17) being pressed by a horizontal leaf spring (18) in the vertical direction against a bearing surface, this bearing surface is formed by two electrical conductors, which are used as contacts (13, 14) and are arranged with an air gap (16) between them. As soon as a shock is exerted on the vehicle which is equipped with the electrical [lacuna], for example as a result of a driving accident, the ball (17) moves against the shock direction as a result of the inertia of its mass, interrupting the connection, within the housing (11), between the contacts (13, 14). In this way, the vehicle electrical system is switched off immediately after the driving accident, so that cable fires or detonation of the fuel by the electrical system are avoided. <IMAGE>
