PURPOSE:A chewing gum, containing a composition consisting of a solid fat, emulsifying agent, polysaccharide and dipeptide sweetening agent, capable of stably retaining the sweetness in the preparation and storage thereof, and having a good sweetness during the chewing thereof. CONSTITUTION:In a chewing gum containing a dipeptide sweetening agent, e.g. alpha-L-aspartyl-L-phenylalanine methyl ester, as all or part of the sweetening agent, a fat or oil composition, containing the dipeptide sweetening agent, and consisting of a solid fat, e.g. hardened repeseed oil or beeswax, an emulsifying agent, e.g. monoglyceride and/or sorbitan ester of a fatty acid, a polysaccharide, e.g. waxy starch, and the dipeptide sweetening agent is used as all or part of the dipeptide sweetening agent. The sweetness is stably retained during the preparation and storage thereof, and a product capable of retaining the good sweetness for a long term during the chewing thereof is obtained. |
