The containers are transported on an endless chain arranged in an S shape and consisting of two separate chains (1) and (1') supporting opposite ends of the containers (E). The chains travel along the vertical leg over sprockets (AA') and (B'B) so that the containers are horizontal. The containers have arms on the sides. The front arms carry guides to engage the inner chains. One rear arm is movable across the rear of the container and engages two external lines of chains at its two ends. The arm can move longitudinally a certain distance controlled by a guide.
