PURPOSE:To enable to reduce the size of the body of a pressure vessel, by attaching and detaching a cap by use of an upper support member which is located around the body of the pressure vessel and moved vertically with respect to the body of the pressure vessel. CONSTITUTION:An upper cap 15 is fitted into the body 14 of a pressure vessel by positioning a press member 17 and the upper cap 15 just above the body 14 of the pressure vessel and moving them downward by turning a cap attaching and detaching means 18. Further, a lower support member 21 and a tension bar are raised together with an upper support member 22 until the lower support member 21 comes into contact with a lower cap 16, and at the same time, partial thread of the member 17 and that of the upper support member 22 are brought into mesh with each other. Then, the member 17 is turned a predetermined angle in the direction shown by an arrow in the drawing, whereby the member 17 is threaded into the upper support member 22 and forces the upper cap 15 into the body 14 of the pressure vessel. |
