PURPOSE:To prevent a damage on a sleeve surface caused by electric corrosion by installing an earth brush in a good management condition, maintaining the directional stability for easy introduction and also by fitting an anti-corrosive ring at the fore end of the sleeve. CONSTITUTION:A sleeve 2 is shrink-fitted to a propeller shaft 1 of a large vessel. An earth 3, that is earthed to the hull, is provided. A carbon contact brush 4 is kept in contact with the propeller shaft sleeve 2, and the contact installing position is chosen in such a manner that it is located below the propeller shaft center line and moreover in the range of + or -30 to 45 deg. from the lower end with respect to the shaft rotating direction of the propeller shaft sleeve 2 in way of an engine room. a silver-plated anti-corrosive ring 6 is fitted to the border end between the propeller shaft sleeve 2 and bow-side coupling 5. |
