PURPOSE:To make the mast height adjustable and to ease hoisting or lowering a sail by constituting a mast by joining mast-subasemblies one by one from the bottom upward. CONSTITUTION:A plural number of mast-subassemblies 10a, 10b... 10d, are coupled with each other and are hoisted from the bottom upward, through a lower cylindical body 4 and an upper cylindical body 7, in order to form a mast 10. Each mast-subassambly 10a, 10b,... 10d, is same in shape, and it is provided with a tapered projection 10' at its upper portion, while with a tapered socket 10'', into which the projection 10' can be inserted, at its lower portion. Outside and at the midway of each mast-subassembly, a plural number of recessed parts 10''' are fomed, while a mast-subassembly hoisting mechanism 14 is installed in a base column 2. A sail 26 is hoisted by unwinding a drum 27 and winding a drum 29, and it is lowered by coiling the sail 26 by means of the drum 27, while feeding a wire 28. |
