Colouration of flesh or eggs of crustacea, fish and poultry is improved by adding to their feed at least 5 wt.% of coloured cells of at least one specific microorganisms species assimilating methanol, methane or a hydrocarbon(s) contg. at least 2C atoms. Suitable microorganisms include Nocardia paraffinica, Nocardia butamica, Protaminobacter rubber and Rhodopseudomonas spheroides. |
