PURPOSE:To make easy to see display contents and reduce the power consumption of an indicator by mounting a light emitting body that uses a transparent type liquid crystal dispaly element in its display section and can observe the display of the element outside the cabinet of the indicator at night. CONSTITUTION:A light emitting body which uses a transparent type liquid crystal display element 19 in its display section and can observe the display of the element 19 at night is mounted outside the cabinet 11 of an indicator and a transparent window 22 is provided at the rear that is opposed to the display element 19 of the cabinet 11 of the indicator. When the cabinet 11 is mounted on a mounting member (not illustrated) during the use of a speedometer, in the daytime, light enters the cabinet 11 from the transparent window 22 through a cabinet support section 25 and the gap between the support section 25 and rear case 17, collides with the element 19, and displays it. On the other hand, at night, the light of the bulb 33 of an illumination section 22 that is fed from a generator (not illustrated) and emits light enters the cabinet 11 from the transparent window 22 and displays the element 19. As a result, the information displayed on the element 19 can be observed clearly both in the daytime and at night. |
