PURPOSE:To secure a good operability by a method wherein three sets of memories are provided so as to correspond to the operating condition of an engine, the values in the memories are corrected based on the deviation of a feedback air/fuel ratio and an altitude correcting value is corrected when the values of at least two of the memories have differences higher than a predetermined value with respect to a reference value. CONSTITUTION:The deviation D of an average air/fuel ratio to a theoretical air/ fuel ratio D is computed at a step 75. Steps 77, 82, 87 decide whether the operating condition of an engine is in idling, a low load or a high load while the values MA, MB, MC of the first, second and third memories provided so as to correspond to the respective operating conditions of the engine are corrected by the deviation D in the steps 78, 83, 88. When at least the values of two memories have differences higher than the predetermined value with respect to the reference value, an altitude correcting value is corrected and a speed change pattern is computed based on the altitude correcting value. |
