A layer-built battery having a plurality of dry cell or zinc chloride cell units stacked side by side in the horizontal direction to form a series connection, each cell unit comprising in combination (Fig. 5) a composite positive electrode (25), a paper casing (24), a zinc sheet negative electrode (22), a carbon conductive film (21), and a heat-shrinkable plastic casing (26). A two-terminal top plate, comprising a plastic plate, a positive terminal, a negative terminal and two metal sheets backed with wax paper connected directly from the bottom of the positive terminal and the negative terminal to provide the electrical connections to the positive and negative ends of the cell units stack respectively. Two tongue-like metal lugs are cut and bent on each metal sheet of the two-terminal top plate to provide a spring force for ensuring the physical contact between the metal sheets of the two-terminal top plate and the two terminal surfaces of the cell units stack. <IMAGE> |
